Hi,

I’m Carson.

I'm an industrial design and manufacturing professional who likes figuring out how things work—and then asking how they could work better.

My background includes manufacturing engineering, metal fabrication, fixture design, CAD, process improvement, and hands-on project development. I enjoy being involved in the entire process, from a rough idea or sketch to a finished part, product, or installation. There's something pretty satisfying about seeing an idea go from "What if we tried this?" to something you can actually hold, use, and improve.

I graduated from Iowa State University in 2023 with a bachelor's degree in Industrial Design. During my time there, I realized that I wasn't just interested in designing things—I was interested in understanding the problems behind them. Why does this work? Why doesn't it? Why are we doing it this way? And, most importantly, is there a better way?

That curiosity has followed me into my work. I like solving problems, paying attention to the details, getting hands-on, and figuring things out when the answer isn't immediately obvious. I'm especially drawn to mechanical design, manufacturing, process improvement, and projects that live somewhere between the computer and the shop floor.

When I'm not working on a project, I'm probably outdoors, traveling to a new city, hanging out with my dog, Arlo, or convincing myself that this time I'll actually finish the next 3D-printing project before starting another.
